Calling It Quits

Last night I was on my way out the door to meet up with Bonnie when Adam stopped home for a visit.  He’s been pretty frustrated and disgusted with some new rules that they notified him last week about and went into affect yesterday.  Rules where if he didn’t meet any one of four, he’d lose out on his guarantee pay for the whole week – even if he was just short one day – and his average pay for the week would be less then 1/2 of minimum wage.  I’ve been trying to convince him that its okay if he quit, that we’d be just fine financially.  I finally got through to him while he stopped home last night.  No dollar amount is worth my hubby not being his happy, cheerful self… a side of him I haven’t seen in a long time.  After he quit I could see in his face how relieved he was.  He’s going to look for some temporary work to get him through until the end of December/early January when he starts a contract job he bid on months ago & has been waiting to hear on.  Yes, he got it.  We just got the contract in the mail yesterday. smile

Good for him! Besides the new rules, the hours they had him working were just crazy!!

    Hey,

I agree with you KK. Tell Adam he did right by quitting. I would have. Ain’t no job worth that kind of frustrations, and is sounds like that job ain’t worth a lot, (except that who will i get ice cream sandwiches from! huh?, who?, huh?)

Good for him! I’m glad he finally made that decision! Now he has time to get your desk finished! LOL
