Saturday night while I was being Bonnie’s date, Adam sent me a text message that he was going to bed & since they don’t have a signal at camp, he’d talk to me in the morning. Sunday morning around 9:45 he sent me another message saying good morning & he was still at camp doing some cleaning so he’d call me a little later (they’ve been cleaning debris out of the camp area in exchange for rent). Once I got his message I got out of bed & went upstairs so I’d be somewhat coherent when he called. He finally called just before 11:00. He said they got rained out yesterday (which I knew) and it made the dumps a sloppy mess so they couldn’t work again today & he was out riding around so he could talk to me. We chatted for about 10 minutes or so when he said he had to get off the phone cuz he had to run in somewhere & he’d call me laater. So we did the “I love you” and “talk to you later” bit and hung up.
I walked into the kitchen by Esther to grab some kleenex to blow my nose. The door opened & neither one of us thought anything of it – figured it was Adam’s sister Pam & our nephew Logan. So, I walked back into the living room with my kleenex so I could say hi to Logan when he came up the stairs. All of a sudden I saw Adam’s smiling (and extremely hairy again) face. I blinked to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating then Esther yelled “Adam!” I ran & jumped in his arms (yes I cried). After a couple minutes I backed up so he could hug his mom (yes, she cried, too). Good thing I had my kleenex in my hand still. heh. The boys were so happy to see their Papa that Reggie strained his knee and limped around the rest of the night and Denzel hyperventilated. Crazy dogs.
Adam said once they got rained out again on Saturday they were trying to decide whether or not to come home because it was only a few days before they were planning on coming home anyway. Adam & one guy wanted to & one guy didn’t care either way so Adam said “Let’s go” cuz he wanted my Christmas Spirit to turn around before Christmas. They were packed & on the road in 1/2 hour. Isn’t my hunny the sweetest?
