This evening Esther, Adam, & I went to Escanaba so Adam could get a haircut. I was hungry so we swung through Taco Bell. Adam & Esther wanted ice cream so they were just going to run in the ice-cream shoppe then come back out to the car. I ended up finishing my tacos before they came outside so I decided to run in & grab a cone myself. I jumped out of the truck & check to make sure the keys weren’t in the ignition then locked the doors. While we were in the ice-cream shoppe, I let Adam know that I locked the vehicle up before I came in so we wouldn’t have to rush back out there. He asked me if I grabbed the keys before I locked it. I told him they weren’t in there. He asked Esther if she had the keys… nope. She left them in the vehicle. Also in there: our purses and all 3 of our cell phones. Dang.
We went out to see if one of the doors didn’t lock by some chance. Adam left his window open a crack. Esther was able to get it down a little more so she could get her arm in there. However, she couldn’t get her arm in far enough. Adam tried to unscrew the antenna but couldn’t get it off. I suggested that to pop off one of the wiper blades. After a few minutes, Adam was able to get the wiper in the window & unlock the vehicle. After dealing with the car alarm for a few moments (we couldn’t remember how to shut it off), we were on our way back home. I’m glad the window was left open a little otherwise we would have been stuck at the ice cream shoppe for at least an hour.
