5 days ‘til Vegas, baby!!

Why I feel the need to add “baby” with nearly every reference to Vegas is beyond me. I can only guess that it has something to do with my excitement for the trip.  It’s to the point where I’m annoying myself with it but I can’t seem to stop. lol!

I am more excited for this trip than any other trip I’ve taken - ever.  What’s funny it has nothing to do with the location. Okay, maybe a little because of the climate and this neverending winter has me at my breaking point. But, Vegas is not even close to one of my favorite cities to visit. Plus, my last trip there almost 7 years ago was a disaster that left an incredibly sour taste in my mouth. Note: Don’t ever let a psychobitch talk you into taking a trip that she insists has nothing to do with making sure her boyfriend isn’t the cheating ass he was & it’s all about the two of you having fun when your gut is screaming she’s full of shit.

Anyway… What has me so excited for this trip is the group of girls I’m traveling with.  Each one is very cool & very fun in their own way (and so very non-psychobitch).  It’s awesome how we all seem to share the same excitement for the trip.  I sometimes wonder if we’re fueling each other.  I’ll admit, a couple days ago I let a few things that are going on in my life stiffle my excitement and second guess my decision to go.  But after talking things out with a couple people and seeing the excitement of the other girls… the excitement-killer was squashed. Everyday life will be here when I return but next week will be a very much needed and well deserved break from it.

Plus, I’m beyond thrilled that I’m vacationing with my niece, Rachel, for the first time as adults. The two of us traveling together is one of those dreams I had for us when she was an itty bitty girl who use to let me do her hair and makeup.

I.can’t.wait.

I party like a rock star

Bonnie & Jeanne posted about some of their earworms recently so I thought I’d jump on the band wagon.  I hear Go Girl by PitBull on iTunes, my iPod, or MTV Jams at least once a day so the “I party like a rock star, look like a movie star…” verse loops through my head constantly.  What’s funny is I never watched the video in its entirety until I looked it up on YouTube.  I feel the need to give PitBull props for having heavier chicks in this video (seeing as I’m a fellow chubby chick - lol)… and she’s not the random everyday variety booty ‘ho you see on hip-hop videos either. For those of you that don’t like this type of music, if you can bare to watch the video you’ll see what I’m talking about.  She’s one of the Robert Palmer type girls.

And speaking of earworms… last night Susie twittered that Neil Diamond is going to be at the Resch Center this summer.  I immediately replied appropriately. Take a guess what else has been stuck in my head since then.  blank stare

Too many cocktails & barking doggies

Whew… what a rough weekend!  Thursday night my friend Kelly came over to help me decorate my house for Christmas. Around 1:00 a.m. we decided to hit the bar… then went to her house for drinks afterward. OUCH! Tooooo many cocktails on Thursday night made for a rough feelin’ Kit-Kat on Friday. Thank goodness I still managed to get my car fixed and returned the Tahoe to Jeanne.  Lil RezCar only needed the front tires replace and a front-end alignment.

Since I got the car fixed, I was still able to go out of town for the weekend as I planned.  However, the doggies decided that the household didn’t need sleep Friday night and barked and barked and barked and barked until 6:30 a.m.  I think they still barked after that but I got so sick of them barking that I packed their houses with warm blankets & put them in the car for a few hours.  Unfortunately, our shopping plans were ruined because everyone was too damn tired.  A 3-hour nap and an early bed time was about all that happened on Saturday.  Thankfully there was only one doggie-barking incident on that night & I ended up sleeping right until kick-off of the Packers game on Sunday.

OH! I did manage to get the cutest pair of shoes… I’ll post a pic later today when I can get it transferred from my phone.  I so need another pair of them.

Packer Family Night

I’m doing my daily post quick from my phone as we walk to the car.

The scrimmage was a blast. It’s obviously nothing like a real game but it was SO MUCH FUN!!  I’ll have to grab some quotes from Twitter because we’ve been updating there as funny or memorable things happen.

But I s’pose I should concentrate a little more on walking… walking a little buzzed is one thing but walking buzzed while typing on a baby keyboard and attempting not to trip over anything is quite another.

This is what happens when you’re too excited to sleep…

I woke up at 5:00 this morning after only 3-4 hours of sleep. Now I’m tired & need a quick nap.  The rest of the girls walked to a nearby hotel for a cocktail so I could snooze. Dammit. I need to learn to not let my excitement get the best of me.
