I’m makin’ a list. And checkin’ it twice!

I realize Christmas is still 3 months away but I wanted to get a jump on it this year. I decided I wanted to make fleece tie blankets for BF’s 2 nieces and nephew. I got lucky and found the perfect fabrics for all 3 blankets within just a couple of days.  I started on the first blanket tonight after an “I’m nervous” phone call to Jeanne.  She gave me a couple of pointers and away I went.  I finished the first blanket in under 2 hours.  It’s for BF’s youngest niece.  One side of the blanket is a purple Tinkerbell pattern and the other side is a rainbow pattern in matching colors.

I was pretty amazed at how quickly it went.  It was much easier than I thought it was going to be and I’m really looking forward to completing the other two now.  The fleece I found for his older niece is a brown with pink flowers for the front and a solid pink for the back.  After searching what seemed like forever (it was forever… I started looking for this one last year), I found the perfect Spiderman fleece for BF’s nephew. Dang, that stuff is hard to find! I ordered enough to make his blanket and maybe a matching hat. I haven’t decided if I want to go with navy or red for the back yet. BF is leaning toward me going with navy because his nephew is quite the energetic little one and thinks red might encourage aggression. I see his point but red totally goes with Spiderman!

I’ll post pics of everything as I complete them. I hope once I start on making quilts everything will go as smooth as this did!

Break It Down

New earworm today! This morning Joelle sent this tweet that started it all. Since then I’ve been dancing around the house singing “U can’t touch this.“ (Yes, the house… I’m home sick today. My dancing is more like a shuffle.) I had two doggie dance partners at one point. Reggie did his normal jump-n-dance on his back legs and Freya had a little nose-to-hip thing she did to me. It was hilarious… until Reggie got mad and jumped Freya. Later, when all was well in doggie-world again, Freya modified her routine from a nose-to-hip to a nibble-on-buns move proving she could touch this. ::rubs buns::
