One way or another… I’m gonna getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha!

Rock Band 2 was released today. Of course, I had to make a midnight run to Walmart to get it. I was so excited that I text Boyfriend to tell him I was having a hard time not running through the store and it was taking everything in me not to speed on my way home. I ended up staying awake playing until 7:00 a.m. There are so many good songs on this new version. What’s also super great is that I was able to export all of the songs from my old game so I can use them in my new one… and that the 110 songs I downloaded also transfer over. Super.Cool.

The soundtrack is so awesome I wanted to share a song here.  I had 3 that I was trying to choose from. After this morning’s Freyacapades (Photo 1 & Photo 2), I totally knew what song I was going to share. Enjoy!

My girl is getting so big

Thursday marked four months that Boyfriend & I brought Freya home.  I can’t believe how much she’s grown in the four short months she’s been with me.  At first was just a mere ten pounds at 8 weeks old. At four months old she was 35 pounds. Now, at six months old, she’s up toward the 70 pound mark. I can’t imagine how big she’ll be when she’s full grown. Its fun to look back and see the changes in her.  Here are 3 videos at the 3 different stages I just mentioned.  The last one is hard to see her because she’s extremely active and hard to follow on video now! At least you can see the difference in her body size a little bit.

She needs an intervention… or something.

A couple nights ago I was enjoying a Bacardi Silver Mojito, Freya came up & wanted to try some. I pulled out an itty bitty bowl for her and poured about a couple tablespoons in so she could try it. The first lick made her back up… then her eyes got wide… then she lapped up the rest. She would.not.stop.begging until I gave her more. She even picked up the little dish & put it on my leg. I gave her about another tablespoon & told her that was it cuz she’s too young to drink. She laps that up then put the dish on my leg again. I told her she wasn’t allowed to have anymore so I put the dish in the sink.

Last night I put the empty bottles next to my door so I would remember to bring them out to the garage this morning. Out of the corner of my eye I just saw Freya by the door so I turned my head to see what she was up to. She was licking the darn mojito bottles and was about to pick one up with her teeth!  Silly, silly girl.

Baking for the kids

I’ve been in the mood to bake cookies but baking them for myself is pretty much a waste of time & money since I can never eat them all. So instead, I decided to bake some treats for my furbabies. I found a billion recipes online & decided on Peanut Butter & Pumpkin Treats.

Pumpkin & Peanut Butter Doggie Treats

It was fun baking the treats for them.  I even used my mini autumn shaped cookie cutters to make it more fun & festive for me. The boys hung out in the living room but the whole “baking” thing was new to Freya so she had to sniff all the ingredients (I would have never let her do this if I wasn’t baking for them). It was hilarious to watch how excited she was to see how they were going to turn out.  She kept checking out the oven until she finally got bummed that it was taking so long that she went to lay down. Funny thing is, since I used the mini cookie cutters the cooking time was cut in half.

I sent a pic to Boyfriend when the cookies were finished. He called a few minutes later and asked if those were people cookies! When I told him no he said I really went all out. *giggle*

But of course! My dogs are my babies! Their special cookies even got put into my pumpkin cookie jar!

I’m makin’ a list. And checkin’ it twice!

I realize Christmas is still 3 months away but I wanted to get a jump on it this year. I decided I wanted to make fleece tie blankets for BF’s 2 nieces and nephew. I got lucky and found the perfect fabrics for all 3 blankets within just a couple of days.  I started on the first blanket tonight after an “I’m nervous” phone call to Jeanne.  She gave me a couple of pointers and away I went.  I finished the first blanket in under 2 hours.  It’s for BF’s youngest niece.  One side of the blanket is a purple Tinkerbell pattern and the other side is a rainbow pattern in matching colors.

I was pretty amazed at how quickly it went.  It was much easier than I thought it was going to be and I’m really looking forward to completing the other two now.  The fleece I found for his older niece is a brown with pink flowers for the front and a solid pink for the back.  After searching what seemed like forever (it was forever… I started looking for this one last year), I found the perfect Spiderman fleece for BF’s nephew. Dang, that stuff is hard to find! I ordered enough to make his blanket and maybe a matching hat. I haven’t decided if I want to go with navy or red for the back yet. BF is leaning toward me going with navy because his nephew is quite the energetic little one and thinks red might encourage aggression. I see his point but red totally goes with Spiderman!

I’ll post pics of everything as I complete them. I hope once I start on making quilts everything will go as smooth as this did!
