I had to stop at the post office today after work. As I was walking up to the building an old man was walking out. He saw me coming up the sidewalk so he held the door open for me. I got up to the door and smiled and started to say, “Thanks!” when it happened. The stupid fucker looked at my shirt, saw it said Native Pride, gave me a dirty look, then LET THE DOOR SLAM ON ME. Seriously. Let the damn door slam on me.
I was stunned for a second because I couldn’t believe he just did that. The door is a heavy and it hurt when it slammed against my body. I’m so pissed my face is red. It took everything in me to keep my cool & not run after him to say something. Instead, I hope he just shits himself in his car on his way home.
That’s what my truck sounds like right now…. bwahm, bwahm, bwahm, bwahm, bwahm. BWAHM.
I was about half way to my BF’s yesterday and I heard a rattle coming from the back of the truck. I thought that it was maybe the jack since I just moving the seats around. Unfortunately, about 10 miles down the road I figured out that the muffler broke underneath the back seats. My truck is LOUD now. I’m trying to decide if I want to just get it fixed or put on a dual exhaust like BF suggested. I’ll have to see. Whatever I decide to do will have to wait a month or so.
YAY! Today is the first day of Spring! I’m so happy. This winter I had the worst bout of Cabin Fever I ever had to deal with. I realize that we still have weeks of snow left in the U.P. but at least its starting to warm up slightly so the shit can melt. I can actually see the pavement on about 2/3 of my driveway for the first time since December. The other 1/3 is shaded by my house so I can’t see that going away anytime soon but it does make for a nice little ice rink!
It’s been kind of interesting watching the snowbanks melt. Well, I haven’t literally been watching them melt… more like seeing them get slightly smaller as each day passes. I can actually see over the snowbanks at the end of my driveway now! That’s pretty thrilling in itself. Next to the house, one snow bank looks like it completely detached itself where the pile was leaning against the house. I can only assume the heat from the house melted it but it still looks rather strange. The same sort of thing is happening by the sidewalk… its like the snow is melting from the bottom up. It’s the first time I’ve seen anything like it. Or, perhaps I never paid that close attention.
