Two Weeks Worth of Happy Days

100 Happy Days

I have some catching up to do. This round of photos is a bit Freya heavy since she’s been staying with me.

To answer the most common questions regarding Freya: I don’t know if it’s permanent yet. D is perfectly fine. Yes, this is hard on Freya so I’ve been stressed more than I have been in a really long time.

Side bar: What is it with people, particularly family, only calling me when they want a the scoop on what’s going on in my life? I’m sorry, you only get details if you’re active in my life. I need support and distractions more than I need people digging for information.

Anyway. Two weeks worth of happy days… because we really are doing great even though things have been stressful!

Day 67, Roomies Once Again

Freya and I had a rough day after we found out she has to live with me for a while. It was sudden for everyone involved. I was happy yet stressed because of a whole range of issues, reasons I didn’t have her in the first place. Freya was grumpy, tired and just wanted to sleep because we got back to my apartment really late… and I wanted “together again” selfies. I suppose mocking her expressions didn’t help much.

Day 68, Sweet Snuggles

Oh how I love when my giant puppy decides to crawl in my lap to snuggle. She crashed out here for the longest time. My legs were twisted and falling to sleep but I didn’t care. My heart was full.

Day 69, This Sneaky Smoocher

Freya started getting annoyed during yet another Roomie Selfie Photo Shoot. This time she decided to disrupt things by giving me smoochies.

Day 70, Dear Magic 8 Ball…

It’s truly amazing how often this Magic 8 ball is right. Perhaps I should stop yelling at it for being so pessimistic.

Day 71, I Want To Hold Your Hand

After her first (rough) couple of days being alone, Freya was feeling pretty down so I got on the floor to give her some extra attention. I was rubbing her chest and belly. I stopped for just a minute to give my arm a break. She took her paw and placed it in my hand. Normally if she wants you to pet her more, she’ll pull your hand toward her. This time she just wanted to hold my hand for a while.

Day 71, Aaaaaaar!

I added yet another new voodoo to my Watchover Voodoo collection. I bought this guy because I love his mighty sword and killer eye patch. And, let’s face it, I could use a little help navigating through the rough waters of life.

Day 73, Can You Just Walk Yourself?

This one is very much a night owl. Our early mornings were quite rough on her initially. One day she growled when I started to get out of bed because she wasn’t ready to get up. What a sassy girl! The next day she jumped out of bed when my alarm went off. The following day (this pic) she just layed there. It  took some coaxing to get her out of bed for her morning walk. I may or may not have bribed her with snackies.

Day 74, Snackie Reserves

I leave a few treats by Freya’s bed every morning so she has something to snack on during the day while I’m gone. Every single day last week I’d find something like this on her bed. I wonder what she has against the crunchy outside.

Day 75, My Feels Are Delicious

I am an emotional eater. I try to eat as much healthy food as I can but my eating my feels generally comes in the form of ice cream or chocolate. Here I combined healthy and less healthy. Underneath the strawberries, slivered almonds and chia seeds you will find a ginormous mound of vanilla bean ice cream. It was glorious.

Day 76, I Found Her Tea!

A friend of mine is bummed because they stopped carrying her favorite tea in the town where she lives. I told her I’d look where I shop to see if I could find it for her. Not only did I find it but I found a bunch. She’s so happy!

Day 77, Green Trees

I love the day or two after the first good rain. It’s amazing how quickly the trees bud. This is the first day after we got a bit of rain. The trees were pretty much bare on our walk the day before.

Day 78, Happy Cinco De Mayo!

I’ve been on-call for work for a large chunk of March and April. I will be again for most of May. Fortunately for me, one of my co-workers is awesome and will take a day for me here and there so I can do fun things… like have a shot of tequila and a cocktail to celebrate a holiday that has nothing to do with me.

Day 79, I Found A Man In My Bed

Yesterday I came home from work to find this little guy on my bed. I just laughed. It was the first time since I lived in TheHut that Freya brought a toy into my bed. She knows it’s a no-no because she tends to drool when she’s playing with them. I’m happy she’s finally getting comfortable enough to play with her toys so she’s not so bored during the day while I’m at work. This little guy is one of her puppy squeaks. I love that he’s the one she chose to keep her company in my room.

    I love:

Day 71 because Suzzie does that. When I rescued her, he nails were so long that they curled into her pads. She does not like people touching her feet (we were destined to be together).

Day 72 because I had to start wearing my eye patch again. AAAAaaaaar!

Day 74 because Annie would do the exact same thing with those snacks. Sometimes she would suck on them to make the crunchy part softer and it would look like she was smoking a cigar.

    • Kit-Kat says:

Most dogs don’t like their paws touched. They’re sensitive just like human feet.

I’m almost certain that box of snacks is old and stale. Freya usually loves crunchy stuff. She doesn’t want those treats at all anymore.

Sorry to hear you have to wear your eye patch again.
