Think Out Loud Thursday #1.

I stumbled on Think Out Loud Thursday today. It looked fun. I like bulleted thoughts and randomness so why not join in?

Oh, all the delicious food.

I haven’t been strictly following any sort of eating plan but I made some pretty big changes in the past week. I had an allergic reaction to something I ate a couple of weeks ago and I puffed up like a blow fish. It was horrible. I’m not at a point where I can wrap my mind around completely giving everything up again quite yet. Instead, I’m making healthier choices and indulge a little if I absolutely can’t talk myself out of it.

However. Yesterday someone mentioned subs from my favorite sub shop in a town about 15 miles from where I work. I’ve craved one ever since. A ginormous sub made with white bread, loads of mayo, cold cuts and cheese. Lots and lots of cheese. Nothing is killing this craving and it’s driving me nuts. To the point where I almost ate a big old bowl of pasta with meat sauce. To the point where I did eat an entire order of onion rings. And french fries. And 4 pieces of chocolate. And had 3 beers instead of just 1 (at least they were free).

This is also known as “eating my feels” without having  healthy options in front of me. Feels suck.

Row, row, row your… machine.

MAN. Row machine workouts are legit. We have one in our employee fitness center. The thing just sits there its little spot never used. I decided to jump on it yesterday and am so glad I did. It works everything. I only did a 5 minute workout because I just finished a cardio workout and only wanted to get the hang of it using the machine.

FIVE minutes. That’s it. My. lower. abs. hurt. so good. They hurt more than they have doing any lower ab workout. Ever. And my booty. Wow. Every time I take a step it feels like someone is giving me a butt-punch on my left glute. I can’t wait to jump back on the machine this afternoon. I’m going to shoot for a 20 minute workout, just to make sure I’m good and dead tomorrow morning when I wake up.

100 Happy Days.

Day 14, Friends.

Monday morning when I got to work I was pleasantly surprised to see that a couple of old friends were in town. They weren’t suppose to get in until Tuesday. I quick messaged to see if they wanted to join me after work for happy hour. What a great way to start the week.

Day 15, Not Fish Tacos.

I was craving fish tacos on Tuesday. I was talking about it with one of the wait staff in the Pub downstairs. She pointed out these Spicy Ginger Soy Chicken Tacos that are on the restaurant menu and said I could order from that menu as well. These. are. ah-mazing. The taco shells are made with fried wontons.

Day 16, They’re Back.

My friends that are in town? They in a band that use to perform in our lounge. Last night was their first time here in nearly 10 years. It was so great to see them play here again, and that they’ll be back regularly.

  1. Dealing with cravings is a PITA. I have the same problem with eating ALL the other things if I don’t just give into my cravings, so I usually do to get them out of the way. The worst is when you can’t figure out what the heck you’re craving and you end up eating a little bit of everything just to see if you can hit the nail on the head

Yes, not knowing what you’re craving is the worst! I have 5 categories I start with for those… Sweet, savory, salty, cheese and chocolate.
