I was catching up on some of my blog reads earlier in the week when I saw Jeanne had been working on 101 Things in 1001 Days again. She’s actually been doing it for quite a while but I just didn’t notice. Oopsie.
After a little bit of thought I decided to start the 101 Things in 1001 Days list again myself but this time added a monetary incentive as one of my things. I’ll be putting $20 aside in the “Me Fund” for everything I cross off the list. Yay! Dollars!! I’ll be extremely happy if I can complete 1/2 the items… not just because of the money thing but I’d love if I can complete a personal project to the 1/2 way point these days.
I was really surprised at how hard it was for me to create a simple list of things to do. It’s not like I added stuff that is out of my reach. It can all easily be accomplished as long as I remember that the list exists and I need to make progress on it. I’ll repeat “as long as I remember that the list exists.” I’m forgetful like that, especially because I have a habit of abandoning my blog for months at a time.
However, by creating the list I noticed that I helped Jeanne accomplish one of the items on her list – “Influence another person to make a 101 list”. That certainly explains why she gave me the extra nudge to create a new list! I joke. She’s encouraging like that anyway.
Wish me luck!
