Bonnie & I took a ride to Marquette yesterday so she could get some 6” pipe for her Halloween fence. Since Pauline was on her way home we asked her if she wanted to meet us for lunch at Applebee’s. When we got to Marquette Pauline let us know she also invited her friend, Amy, and her two daughters to join us. Oh.mi.god. What a fun lunch! I can’t remember the last time I laughed that hard. We literally laughed for 2 hours straight. Amy & her girls are awesome. There was never an uncomfortable moment like there usually is when you first meet someone. In fact, it was just the opposite. It seemed like they were old family friends. One of our conversations was the debate of Yoopers saying “You’se guys” and southerners saying “Y’all”. Amy’s 14-year old piped in “Y’all is a CONTRACTION! You don’t see you’se in the dictionary. You see you and you see all. There’s no you’se. You see guys but there is no you’se!” She said it with such conviction (multiple times) that you couldn’t do anything but laugh because each time her hands and head were going just so she could prove her point. So, we decided to start a campaign… “Say Y’all!” because they’re determined to get more people saying y’all (I think Bonnie came up with the slogan).
