Late Night with Kit-Kat’s Chit-Chat

Don’t you hate when you take a nap then you stay up all night?  I snoozed for about an hour or so this evening when I got home from work.  I was just too damn tired to even function.  Work has been keeping me busy, which is a good thing.  I’m involved in a couple projects that I’m pretty excited about.  If nothing else, the projects are a great distraction from the tension at my “main” location.  It’s seriously such a weird moody rollercoaster I never know what I’m walking into when I go there and I’m at the point where I don’t know if I want to scream, laugh, or cry.  I did have to laugh at The Boss today when he told me he doesn’t want me to get carpel tunnel handwriting everything like they want so if they want a paper trail of everything I’ve done then I should print it & give it to them… all 200ish pages.  All because the other people I’m dealing with feel the need to hand enter everything into a spreadsheet themselves because they think I’m going to modify the spreadsheet or delete workorders or something of that nature. Whatever.  So, tomorrow I’m tying up their printer to print everything I’ve completed in the past month and a half so they can have their paper trail (which I could give them as a PDF but they feel the need to print all of it, hand enter it into a spreadsheet, then put it in a binder so they can toss it in 7 months).  Ohhhh… maybe I’ll wait until Monday to do that so The Boss is around to defend me when the blow-up happens… because even though I’ll be giving them what they want they’ll see how ridiculous the amount of work they create for themselves is and will get pissed.

Changing gears now…

A couple nights ago I was working out some stuff out in the garage and I forgot the light on.  Adam noticed it when he got home & was going to open the garage so he could shut the light off.  I told him all he had to do was flick a switch right by the door inside the house and the light in the garage would shut off.  About a 1/2 hour later I stepped into the bathroom to get ready for bed and I heard Adam say “How in the heck did the light in the pantry start working?!”  Now, the light in the pantry hasn’t worked since we moved in here.  We replaced the bulb figuring it was burned out but that didn’t work so we just figured it wasn’t wired or something.  We figured out that light switch I flicked controls the garage light AND the pantry.  Now how much sense does that make??  We decided to leave the switch by the door on then control the garage light using the switch in the garage and use the pullstring for the light in the pantry.  That still makes me laugh.  What in the world were they thinking when they wired that?  I just don’t get it.  Thank god the pantry light has the pullstring.  The funny thing is, I’ve used that switch before and the light never turned on.  All I can guess is that one of us pulled the string to turn the pantry light on since the last time I used the switch in the house. heh.
