Last night I had a dream that I was in my old house in Powers. Initially, several people were there. All of my family, Adam’s brother Mike (I seem to remember his sister Pam showing up, too), and some weird instructor that was teaching all of us something (he was going to fast for me to understand and thought I was an idiot for not being able to keep up). Adam was at class, I think. At some point I remember picking up the phone to call someone & I heard Mike talking to his mom about me & Adam. I don’t remember much after that.
The next part I remember, it seemed like I was in the same house but it looked different outside – as if I was somewhere else. I was there with a couple of other people but I don’t remember who. Suddenly, I looked out the window to see 5 tornados heading directly toward us. We ran down to the basement. A few minutes later one tornado hit, blowing out the basement windows and the ceiling started to collapse on us. We ran to the other side of the house. I was searching for a cellphone to call Adam because I was in a panic & wanted to let him know I was okay. As I was dialing the phone, the second tornado hit. I looked up the stairs to see the upstairs of the house start to collapse. I remember feeling like I was in a state of panic because I couldn’t get ahold of Adam. About that time I realized I was in a dream so I shook myself awake.
I looked up tornados in a dream dictionary & here’s what it said:
To dream that you are in a tornado, signifies that you are feeling overwhelmed and out of control. You will be met with a series of disappointments for the next week or so. Your plans will be filled with complications.
To see several tornadoes in your dream, represent people around you who are prone to violent outbursts and shifting mood swings. It may also symbolize a volatile situation or relationship.
When I first saw the interpretation, I thought it was talking about stress at work or maybe something about Adam that I wasn’t seeing. Now that I thought the whole dream through, I wonder if this has something to do with us discussing Christmas with his family yesterday.
