Free Time

I was reading Jeanne’s blog today & it got me thinking.  How much time in a week do I have free to do everything else but work or sleep?  When you think about it, there really isn’t all that much time.  Take me for example:  There are 168 hours in a week, I dedicate 11.5 hours everyday (57.5 hrs/wk) with my drive & all that, and I sleep 6-8 hours a night (42-56 hrs/wk).  That only leaves 54.5 – 68.5 hrs/wk for everything else & that includes the 32-36 hours I’m awake on the weekends.

Yuck.  No wonder why I feel like I never have time to get anything done.  That’s depressing.

I think it’s all about the question: Is your glass half empty or half full?

I did the same calculations you did. Subtracting 45 hours per week for work and communte, eight hours of sleep per day, and one hour of exercise per day leaves me with 60 hours per week of free time. That’s time for everything else (including 45 minute relaxing morning soaks in the bathtub … and sometimes cleaning and laundry). But, my glass is half full.

At times it seems I can’t get anything done, but that’s because I know I tend to keep putting things off.

My name is Bonnie. I am an optimistic procrastinator.
